The Sacred Hearth

Although they are often neglected in modern magical education, Journey and Astral work are by far the most important aspects of magical spirituality. They are acheived through trance and/or dreamlike states and using these techniques you can move not only through "dimensions" or realities, but also through space and time effortlessly. This allows you to create magical results without alot of fuss and divinationi becomes a piece of cake. You will find once you have mastered these techniques that you are able to be with people who need you, even when you can't physically travel to their location and they will tell you "I felt you there with me" or "I dreamed about you and I didn't feel lonely". You will also be able to easily plant suggestions in other peoples' minds and communicate telepathically. I use these techniques to maintain closeness with my lover when he travels (He is both a salesman and a musician, so this happens pretty often) and to summon my children home when they are out playing, as hollering gives me a headache. I have also used these techniques to locate the perfect lover for a friend and send her wandering across his path.

In addition to these very practical uses for Astral techniques, Trance is very relaxing to the body and soul and it enhances wisdom and knowledge. It allows you to escape the confines of materiality (meanwhile allowing the body to relax and rejuvenate) and explore things you can't in your physical body. It also helps you to understand things that can't be fully comprehended with your physical mind. You will find that many of the things you learn in an Astral state, though you understand them at the time and may alter your behavior and your attitude accordingly, and yet in your physical state you may not be able to articulate, or even think clearly about the truths that brought about the change in the first place. This is why Astral work is so important. The great Mysteries of magic and the Universe cannot be articulated with the human mouth, or even fully comprehended with the human brain, thus they cannot be taught. You must find them and see for yourself and the best way to do this is through Astral Work.
