New Moon in Cancer, July 3

The new moon in Cancer is the perfect time for nurturing close familial relationships so take some time to send out some good energy to your distant family members and/or invite the local relatives over for a backyard barbeque.

Many of Pagans feel disconnected from our families because of religious differences, but connection to the global family must start with connection with your own family. How can you honor the Earth as your mother if you don't have a good connection with your earthly mother?

Select someone in your family with whom you have a difficult relationship and set the intention this new moon to spend some time working on repairing your personal and emotional bond with that person. Let go of past hurts and open the door to new experiences. Just spend some time together.

Full moon in Capricorn, July 18th

If you've been thinking about getting into some formal training or searching out a mentor to aid you along your path, whether your spiritual path or more mundane endeavors, do some journey work for inspiration and locate the help you need. Send your intention Universe to find a helper, mentor or teacher and begin the physical search for that person. Remember to watch for warning signs when you are considering a new teacher or training program and walk away if you ever feel uncomfortable with what's going on. Don't worry, there will be another teacher. And in the meantime, you can check out some online resources like The Seeker's Grove.

If you're all set in the teacher/mentor department, take some time to celebrate the people who have helped your prosperity in the past. Your teachers, employers, etc. Take some time to think about everyone who has helped out out, put in a good word or said just the right thing to make the lightbulb go on in your head. Take some time to meditate and remember those who have helped you along in life and light a candle and say a prayer a prayer of appreciation and goodwill.

Happy Independence Day

This Fourth of July, take some time to acknowledge our Pagan Warriors. Check out the Military Pagan Network, host of the Adopt a Pagan Soldier program. Remember that whether or not we agree with the wars our leaders have seen fit to involve us in, the men and women of our military took up this duty, and it's a duty many of us either don't want or are unable to take up, for the good of all of us in this country. Following orders is honorable, and they should be honored- whether or not we like the orders they follow.
